Family Profiles
Create and manage profiles for each member of your family including adults and children.
Every family member in your household can have their own profile in Nook. This guide covers how to create and manage family profiles.
Creating a Family Profile
- Navigate to Settings > Family
- Click Add Family Member
- Fill in the profile details:
- Name - The member's name
- Avatar - Upload a photo or choose an icon
- Role - Owner, Adult, or Child
- Color - For calendar events and visual identification
- Click Save
Profile Types
Adults with Email
For family members who will log into Nook:
- Enter their email address
- They'll receive an invitation to join
- They can manage their own notifications
- They have full access based on their role
Children (No Email)
For younger family members:
- No email address required
- Parents manage their profile
- Events can be assigned to them
- Dietary restrictions are tracked

Profile Colors
Each family member has an assigned color used for:
- Calendar events they're attending
- Visual identification in lists
- Meal plan assignments
- Task assignments
Available colors are designed to be visually distinct and accessible.
Editing Profiles
- Go to Settings > Family
- Click on the profile to edit
- Make your changes
- Click Save
You can change any profile field except the email address for existing members.
Removing Family Members
To remove a family member:
- Go to Settings > Family
- Click on the profile
- Scroll to Danger Zone
- Click Remove from Family
Warning: This action:
- Removes their access to the family workspace
- Keeps their historical events and data
- Cannot be undone
Profile Privacy
Each family member controls their own:
- Notification preferences
- Which channels they use (email, SMS, push)
- What types of reminders they receive
Parents can manage children's profiles but should respect older children's privacy preferences.
