Best Practices

Who Should Be an Owner

  • The person who manages the household
  • Someone who handles family logistics
  • The account billing contact

Who Should Be an Adult

  • Parents and guardians
  • Older teens who help manage the household
  • Other caregivers (grandparents, nannies)

Who Should Be a Child

  • Younger children
  • Teens who don't need management access
  • Anyone who just needs to view information

Upgrading a Child to Adult

When a child is ready for more responsibility:

  1. Go to Settings > Family
  2. Click on their profile
  3. Add their email address
  4. Change role to Adult
  5. They'll receive an invitation to create their own login

This lets them:

  • Manage their own notifications
  • Create and edit events
  • Help with meal planning
